WARNING: This review contains spoilers from a movie shown before its release date and from a private screening. Read with caution!

On the auspicious date of December 15th, 2023, I had the esteemed privilege of attending an exclusive screening of the highly acclaimed musical adaptation of Alice Walker's celebrated work, "The Color Purple." This invitation represented a significant landmark in my odyssey as an aficionado of filmmaking, signifying the very first instance wherein I was privy to an event of such distinguished caliber. The occasion extended beyond mere viewing of a film interpretation of a cherished literary masterpiece; it was an invaluable moment to delve into a meticulous critique of the movie. This experience allowed me to immerse myself in an environment replete with fellow enthusiasts of cinema, as well as devotees of both the original novel and its esteemed 1985 cinematic rendition.
